Harrison, Arkansas Restaurant & Gathering Place

John Paul's Restaurant inside the 1929 Hotel Seville

The hotel’s Private Club will be re-developed into a trendy yet historic restaurant/bar concept and renamed as JOHN PAUL’S, reminiscent of the great political gathering places such as The Palm or Capital Bar & Grill.

Portobello Mushroom Burger

Named after local political legend, John Paul Hammershmidt the restaurant will be designed in a predominantly historical theme and built on a "local pride" concept. The menu will be casual with tap beers, burgers, appetizers and specialty drinks served by employees in sharply dressed and appropriate uniforms.

We expect a heavy lunch crowd and evening happy hour from downtown traffic, hotel patrons for dinner and a regular bar crowd that seeks the environment we will be creating. We will extend to outdoor seating however we would be VERY sensitive to the private club rules. The bar will be active, somewhat "trendy" and be well known as a place to be seen, talk sports or politics yet not to a level whereas it might impose on overnight guests.

We will design with dark wood, big tile, comfortable seating and booths. Walls will feature significant murals by artist larry Mansker that depict prominent events of the region and will be further adorned with political memorabilia featuring the likes of John Paul Hammerschmidt, Hattie Caraway and similar political figures significant to the area as well as seeking a Harrison Historical Connection.
